Nicoya Peninsula

The Nicoya Peninsula, separated from the mainland by the Gulf of Nicoya, is an idyllic jungle-meets-beach vacation experience and was recently classified as one of the four longest life expectancy regions in the world. The region boasts magnificent beaches along its vast Pacific coastline, traditional cattle ranches in its interior and a number of charming little villages catering to surfers, fishermen and divers. Various eco-systems are represented in the area including turtle beaches, subterranean caves, birdwatching hotspots, and a number of significant wildlife reserves are dedicated to the protection of the areas unique flora and fauna. p.s. Getting there is part of the fun!
